Kyle Spraker

An international soloist, chamber musician, orchestral trumpet player, recording artist and avid teaching artist, Kyle Spraker has performed with top-notch ensembles around the world.

Aside from working with Redline Brass Quartet, Kyle holds the Principal Trumpet chair with the Cape Symphony Orchestra; and regularly performs contemporary music as a member of Callithumpian Consort. Kyle also often performs with orchestras throughout New England including: Symphony New Bedford, Plymouth Philharmonic, and the Boston Chamber Orchestra which has traveled to Japan for two performance tours and frequently records soundtracks for movies and television shows.

Additionally, Kyle has performed with notable ensembles like the Boston Philharmonic, Albany Symphony, American Symphony Orchestra, and the Kyushu Symphony in Japan. In the summer season, Kyle has been a fellow at the Spoleto FestivalNational Orchestral Institute, and Castleton Festival under the baton of Lorin Maazel. As a soloist, Kyle has been featured with the Cambridge Philharmonic, Longy Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Master Chorale and was recently credited for his trumpet solo in the film The Tenants Downstairs.

Kyle serves on faculty at the Cape Conservatory, Nantucket Music Center, and Longy School of Music where he teaches a course introducing the practice and philosophy of Teaching Artistry. He also teaches private trumpet lessons in Tyngsborough, Dennis-Yarmouth, and Sharon.

Kyle received a Master’s Degree from the New England Conservatory in 2010, where he studied with members of the Boston Symphony Orchestra: Benjamin Wright and Steven Emery. Before moving to the east coast, Kyle earned his Bachelor’s Degree from CSU Long Beach, where he studied with members of the Los Angeles Philharmonic: Jim Wilt and Christopher Still.
